“Toms Gerber GmbH is a company that not only attracts staff but retains them – the opportunities of industry and the heart of a family business.”

Hermine Gerber presents a Toms Gerber GmbH composite component to a customer

Hi, I’m Hermine.

I have been part of the management team at Toms Gerber GmbH since 2021. After completing a joinery apprenticeship and a bachelor’s degree in interior construction, and gaining practical experience in another wood processing company, I came back to the family business.

At its core, Toms Gerber GmbH has always been versatile, whilst never losing touch with its heritage of craftsmanship. Generations of entrepreneurial tradition means that the family business is a reliable employer in the region. With a constant drive to develop – reflected in our own products as well as the continuous modernisation of our machinery – we are a medium-sized company that does not have to be shy of comparisons within the industry.

For me, the key for us as a company is to a watchword for high-quality work and at the same time create a pleasant and modern environment that promotes mutual respect.

How about you? Why don’t you pay us a visit? You might find your future employer here!

Hello, I’m Sven.

I’ve been part of the team since 2020. The great thing about my role in production planning and design is that I can build my skills and pass on my experience to my colleagues. I find it particularly exciting to take on new and challenging tasks and to coordinate and optimise processes. State-of-the-art equipment is very helpful for this.

Hi, I’m Tom.

I have been part of the team since 2020 and am as impressed as I was on the day I joined this family business.

The crucial thing for any successful company is to have well thought-out and systematic processes. That’s why the position I started in at Toms Gerber GmbH was Innovation Manager, playing a key role in developing the company’s production planning and overall process flows. I was interested in creating something new by combining traditional craftsmanship with innovative technology. As a construction engineer, I am still involved in the digitalisation of processes as well as supervising projects, and I have been supporting optimisation processes as a Managing Director of the company since 2024.

How about you? Why don’t you pay us a visit? You might find your future employer here!

Hello, I’m René.

I found my way to Toms Gerber GmbH through training to become an industrial manager. I have been with the company since 2000.

I am responsible for production management, and for coordinating and monitoring the goings-on, as you might call them, in our production halls.

What I particularly like about the company is the technical equipment we work with every day here. It allows us to handle even the more complex tasks well.

Hello, I’m Felix,

I have a Dipl. Ing. in Wood Technology and have been with the company since 2005.

As the “communication channel” with our customers, I am responsible for sales and advice, which I am passionate about. I also bring my knowledge to our in-house research and development.

What I particularly value about my employer, whom I have been with a long time, is firstly its regional focus and the job security if offers; I also really enjoy the freedom and independence I am given in my department.

Hello, I’m Manuela,

I’m a qualified office administrator. I would describe myself as a communicative person, which is helpful in my role at Toms Gerber GmbH.

I work out of our lovely offices and deal with issues relating to retail and customer contact. This includes ordering raw materials and liaising with our customers.

Of course, our customers – and our projects – are all different from each other. The variety and the interaction with other people are real plus points for me. I like that.

In addition to serial production, I work in custom production and in our Research and Development department.

Hello, I’m Marco.

I’ve been working at Toms Gerber GmbH since 2003 and if I have any say in it, I will continue to work here for a long time to come. Because I’ve found a job that I enjoy here, a secure job.

I started out with the work I was trained for: joinery. Over time, my areas of activity expanded greatly and now I am proud to call myself Production Manager. That means I make sure production runs smoothly and I work with a highly motivated team.

What makes me so enthusiastic about my job is that, on the one hand, the work I do at Toms Gerber GmbH is tailor-made for me, and that on the other – and this is my passion – I get to manoeuvre state-of-the-art forklift trucks through our halls.

Hello, I’m Patrick.

Searching for new challenges, I found what I was looking for at Toms Gerber GmbH, where I can develop my skills in a family environment and help manufacture superior products.

“Exciting projects, varied activities and flat hierarchies: it’s a pleasure to come to work.”

Hello, I’m Leander.

From the very first day, Toms Gerber GmbH impressed me with their state-of-the-art machinery and the challenging work they do.

So war es kein Zufall, dass ich direkt ins kalte Wasser geworfen wurde und ab 2023 meinen Einsatz am neu angeschafften Bohr- und Fräszentrum der Firma fand.

The company is not only a great employer; I also work with a team I can count on, and with whom I have become good friends.

“Found what I was looking for: a company with strong team spirit between colleagues and the family management. That makes a big difference.”

Hi, I’m Louis.

I joined the Toms Gerber GmbH team in 2023. Since then, I’ve worked on the block press, producing all kinds of composite components.

I quickly realised that problems and challenges in day-to-day work are addressed and solved immediately, as a team.

You feel valued as an employee here; you aren’t just a number, as is sadly too often the case elsewhere.

How about you? Why don’t you pay us a visit? You might find your future employer here!

Nick
Kaiser

With Toms Gerber since

“When I returned to my old line of work and was offered opportunities to train in a modern production environment, I rediscovered my enthusiasm for engineered wood.”

Hi there, I’m Nick.

I’ve worked in the production team since 2023, and after 24 years I’m now back in my old job.

Having been thoroughly trained by the old hands in the company, I operate the panel-sizing saw, the vacuum press and the edgebander.

There are even more machines to master in the halls at Toms Gerber GmbH. But after the experience I’ve had and with this great team behind me, I’ll manage that too: challenge accepted!

How about you? Why don’t you pay us a visit? You might find your future employer here!
